Aqua Ionizer Deluxe 9.0: 10 Point Inspection

Scam Warning: The Aqua Ionizer Deluxe is sold by three different companies called Real Water Spirit USA, Alive Water, and Air Water Life. They have been found to seriously misrepresent how these machines are made, and what their performance is. Worse yet, there are reports that lead has been found in the water produced by the Aqua Ionizer Deluxe. We rate this machine: Don’t buy

pH and ORP tests over time

The Aqua Ionizer Deluxe 9 is advertised to reach a pH range of 3 to 11.5, but don’t believe it. In our testing, this machine had a pH range of 6.8 - 9.9, and that’s only if you slow the flow of the water down to a trickle. We were unable to test this machine for the full 6 months because it had problems. The controls don’t work very well, and it was prone to shut off without reason.

Antioxidant ORP performance was even worse. This machine was unable to reach a negative ORP, which means the water it made had no antioxidant potential. The best we got was a +58 ORP. The water from this machine isn’t an antioxidant.

Our ruling: Fail  This machine obviously doesn’t have anywhere near the power or performance it’s supposed to have. To get any amount of alkalinity in your water at all, you have to slow the flow rate down so much that the machine just about shuts down.

Toxins filtered out

The Aqua Ionizer Deluxe 9.0 comes with two internal filters that filter the taste and odor of chlorine. Our testing indicated that the filters in this machine may actually be adding something to the water. The total dissolved solids (TDS) of the water actually increased after running it through the machine. That indicates to us that this machine is secretly adding something to the water it makes, probably a pH booster.

Our ruling: Fail  The filters in an ionizer should not add mysterious substances to your water

Quality of components

The Aqua Ionizer Deluxe is made in China - the world’s leading exporter of lead tainted products, and the Aqua Ionizer Deluxe is no exception. Lead contamination has been reported in the water made by this machine. Another problem is the plates, when we disassembled the ionization chamber, we found that they weren’t coated with platinum! The poor build quality of this machine makes it dangerous to health. You should never drink water from this machine

Our ruling: Fail  Any amount of lead in water is unacceptable. This machine should not be sold in the US. You are warned to avoid it

White glove installation available

No. We know of no installation services for this machine. If you buy it, you’re on your own.

Our ruling: Fail If you buy this machine, you’re on your own for installation

Evaluate user experience with in home trials

This machine is worse than useless. To get any decent pH readings, you have to slow the flow of the water down to a trickle. The buttons and case feel incredibly cheap, and this machine just shuts down for no reason. We got so frustrated with it that we wanted to throw it out a window.

Our ruling: Fail  The Aqua Ionizer Deluxe has to be the worst machine we’ve ever tested.

Maintenance: Is it easy, effective?

This machine runs a cleaning cycle every 15 minutes of use. It’s hard to tell if it actually does anything more than waste water.

Our ruling: Fail  This machine wastes water and it’s hard to tell if it actually does anything.

Warranties, return policy, user manual

The Aqua Ionizer Deluxe 9.0 comes with a limited lifetime warranty on parts and labor, which is what we expect for a nine plate machine. You only have 30 days with restocking fee to return the machine, but we hardly see any reason why you would want to keep it that long. The user’s manual was poorly written.

Our ruling: Fail  The return policy on this machine is too short. The user’s manual in next-to-useless.

Customer Service/Tech support

Customer service and tech support for this machine are appalling. The people we spoke to were either clueless, or they just didn’t care.

Our ruling: Fail  Customer service and tech support are terrible.

How the ionizer compares to other ionizers

The Aqua Ionizer Deluxe is easily the worst ionizer made. It doesn’t perform well, feels cheap, and has been found to poison the water it makes with lead.

Our ruling: Fail  This machine is a scam, it doesn’t work, it’s poorly built, and dangerous.

Taste of the water

Honestly, we didn’t taste the water, we were too concerned about lead being found in it.

Our ruling: Fail  The water made by this machine is undrinkable

F. = Our Grade for the Aqua Ionizer Deluxe 9.0: 0 out of 10 for 0%

Don’t waste your money on this machine. It’s a scam.
