Size and Thickness Matters
A lot has been said by various manufacturers on the importance of the construction of the plates in your ionizers—and with good reason. Thickness of ionizer plates is just as important as the size of the plates, because the thicker the plate, the better it can conduct an electric charge.
For example, if you take a plate with a .1 micron covering of platinum and you compare its readings with an ionizer with plates covered in .25 micron covering of platinum, you’ll find that the charge will be conducted more efficiently on the plate with a thicker covering of platinum.
One of the things that we found is that you can get 9.5 water from a couple of different machines, but the ones with the thicker plates will have a higher antioxidant count at the same pH level.
Thicker plates aren’t the cheapest option of manufacturing, because the industry standard is to make the plates from non-oxidizing platinum; but remember—the thicker they are, the longer they’ll last, and the more effective the ionization process will be.
Increase your Surface Area
Mesh plates are a very good upgrade to add to your ionizer, because Mesh constructions naturally increase the surface area of your ionizer plates. Increased surface ares of ionizer plates allows for a greater surface to come in contact with the water that is passing through the plates, forces the water to slow down so it stays on more plate surface for a longer time, and therefore has a longer time to develop a stronger charge.
The combination of a large number of plates with thicker plates with MESH surfaces is a great recipe for higher antioxidant readings from the lowest level of ORP as well as a tighter control on the pH settings of your water.
